Piracy Surge in the Calypso Deeps Forces Independent Captains Into Arms Race

As many as 1/3 of all independent captains in the Calypso Deeps have outfitted their craft with illegally obtained armaments and protection systems, according to reports compiled by the Champlain Group. The surge follows one of the worst years for piracy on record in the region.
