“Assassin” Haunts Peacekeeping Forces In New Canaan Corridor
Security organizations operating in the New Canaan Corridor are investigating a series of attacks that have disabled or destroyed even heavily armed peacekeeping craft. Authorities currently believe a single, heavily modified civilian vessel, is responsible for the incidents.
Our Analysis:
Pressure from the superpowers and other regional governments has placed severe limitations on independent anti-piracy forces, leaving third-party security organizations ill-equipped and formal militaries overstretched.
If a single armed craft, or organization is responsible for these attacks, their success would appear to indicate outside backing, not unusual in the volatile New Canaan Corridor. Yet determining the involvement of state or corporate actors is difficult and politically fraught.
